They created the very first artificial neuron that can sense both touch and sight at the same time. This neuron works sort of like our brain, where one sense can affect another.

This special neuron combines a tactile sensor (for touch) and a visual sensor (for seeing things). When one sensor detects something, it can influence what the other sensor does. It's like teamwork between our senses!

This technology could make robots, drones, and self-driving cars smarter and more energy-efficient. They can better understand their surroundings, thanks to this smart sensor system, and that's good for the environment.

The research showed that when weak touch and sight signals work together, they become super strong. This means AI can use less energy while being super effective at sensing things. The scientists behind this innovation are Andrew Pannone and Harikrishnan Ravichandran, who are both students at Penn State.

While GreenVan initially launched in the UK, Gupta has plans to expand to the US in the near future and, eventually, to India. He believes that this technology can bring positive changes to both the service industry and the environment by offering eco-friendly advertising on their fleet of electric vans used by contractors.
